Ideas for the Attic Space

Do you have an attic at home? If you do and want to convert it into something else, there are many ways to do this. You just have to figure out what you want that is according to your own personal taste.

For instance, if you live in a two bedroom home and you know that this is not enough to accommodate some guests that will be staying for a few days, why not turn the attic into an extra bedroom? Curtains and linen should be made of soft fabric materials to create a nice atmosphere. The same goes for the paint used on the walls. Don’t forget to put small dresser with a mirror.

Another decorating idea for the attic is to convert this into a children’s playroom. For that, you will need a soft carpet and of course, lots of toys. You should put washable paint on the walls so it is easy to remove the kids drawings!

The attic can also be turned into a gym. You can put all sorts of machines in here as well as a refrigerator so you can easily get something cold to drink during your workout. If there is still space, you can even put a shower room so you can hit the showers right after instead of going downstairs.

There are so many decorating ideas which you can do with your attic. You will realize that it is much better as living space compared to storage space.

But before you get excited, you have to check if the ceiling and the roofing can handle the headroom and the additional weight. If you fail to do so, all the equipment you have up there could come crashing down damaging the other rooms of the house.

You will also need to do some carpentry, electrical, insulating, plumbing and ventilation work to make this place feel cozy during any time of the day.
